Tel Aviv in Israel is one of the most expensive cities to live in in the world.

A panel of global economists surveyed 173 cities in the world's major economies of living and the cost of living, according to a report prepared earlier this year. The city of Aviv ranks first. The strength of the shekel, the country's currency against the dollar, is the cost of transportation. Tel Aviv has risen in its rankings due to rising grocery prices. Last year, Paris, Zurich and Hong Kong topped the list

Paris on this year's list. Singapore is jointly ranked 2nd, Zurich, Hong Kong and New York 6th and Geneva 7th. Los Angeles is 9th and Osaka is 10th. Syria's Damascus is the cheapest city in the world. Ahmedabad is the 7th cheapest city in India. Karachi, Pakistan is in 6th place.
